 1: Use an external site if you want to display a banner from the campaign on a site you do not own or do not have permission for the management of advertising space. All campaign controls (limits, targeting...) are on the site owner's side. External site and associated [[external codes>>ExternalCode]] allow the measurement of campaign results (impressions, clicks, unique users...) in your BB AdServer and also in the advertising system of the site. i.e.= it serves as independent counter. The codes of the external server are on sites where the advertising is displayed only for period of time when an advertising campaign is to be running.
