An action is any transaction made by the user, who was affected by the campaign. An action is measurable by JavaScript code. This may be a purchase, filling at questionnaire, clicking on the button "Close x".

Type of actions:

  • Internal action - is a transaction which happens "internally" in the banner. E.g. Typically for roll-out - number of transitions from "rolled in" to "rolled out" state, the number of clicks on button "Close x", the number of pressing a pause button in a videoplayer...
Send generated code to the creative author who will insert this code into the part of banner you want to measure.
  • External action - is a transaction which happens "externally" on the advertiser's sites. E.g. enter to the site, fill in the form, confirmation of purchase ...
Place the generated code into the advertiser's site somewhere where it indicates that the transaction which is going to be measured has happened.
E.g. If the confirmation of a purchase is to be measured, insert this code into the "thank you" page which is displayed right after the completion of the purchase.

TIPS:

  • Insert the action's code into the site/banner before the campaign starts. Then you will have data for the whole campaign.
  • Leave the inserted action's code in the site after the campaign ended. Research has showen that 14 days after the end of the campaign, the number of orders made by users who were affected by a campaign had increased. The code is active 3 months after the end of the campaign. During this time period the BB AdServer can assign the action to the campaign.
